Gypsy Rosalee Poem by Phil Soar

Gypsy Rosalee

I crossed her palm with silver
That Gypsy Rosalee
She spent her life just reading palms
In a tent down by the sea
She told me of my future
From the lines upon my hands
And took my money happily
As she sat upon the sands
I believed all of her comments
And then I left the tent
Went back to my apartment
And forgot to pay the rent
The next thing I was homeless
Went back to where she'd been
But all there was were miles of sand
And the waves upon the sea
I'd crossed her palm with silver
Now she was filthy rich
And I was living on the beach
That flipping gypsy witch!
