Habit Poem by Oluwatosin Thomas

Habit

I
I am inevitable phase in your life,
Your greatest foe and also your best ally.
I will lead you to your dream tunnel,
Or shatter your dreams.
II
I am confessed to you,
Your wish is my command.
For all you do, look me in the face,
And hastily i will do them correctly.
III
With ease, i can be easily wielded,
Wholly, you must be firm in my ways.
Show me the secret to your dreams and visions,
And overtime, i will make them come true just as you wish.
IV
I am like a maid of all great men,
And wirra, of all fallen as well.
For the heroes, i have built them,
For the weakers, i have also made them.
V
I am neither a human nor a machine,
Though in me I've installed the manuals,
In addition with the wisdom of men.
VI
You may channel me for wealth,
Or tunnel me for porverty,
Hmm, i am your helper for both.
VII
Be with me, be conscious of me,
Do not be easy with me,
And the world will be at your feet.
VIII
Be mild at me,
And i will destroy you.
Who am i?
I am HABIT!
