Every day I see you
thru a virtual window
Built in an air castle
Bridged by rainbow
When my sun rises
Moon is your pillow
A figure maps out a distance
Between us is oceanic farness
Half world away
I feel sad for reaching you no way
Cheer up! You once said -
Distance is nothing
as long as we build up a hope
within love, we are one
A stunning write. Beautiful description of a long distance relationship. Air castles rainbow bridges moon pillows Distance is nothing Bravo is about all I can really say here Cigeng. Brilliant
Thank you Mike for your encouraging comment! Let me find time to share your work.
This poem is a gem of precision and radiance. It shines all the way from Beijing to the Twin Cities. The imagery is subtly double-edged: When my sun rises/moon is your pillow is a lovely image, its beauty is breathtaking but it is also a painful image because it reminds the speaker of vast space that separates them. Virtual reality is described in traditional poetic language of air castes and rainbows but it doesn't make the separation any easier. The tender closing section shows maximum appreciation of a friend. It releases joy inside me. It's wonderful! !
What a beautiful comment! I am not sure how far it is from BJ to Twin Cities. But believe poetry links the world. Thank you Daniel.I loved the comment.
What a beautiful piece! Vivid imagery and deep feelings well expressed. I love the zen in it and the flow. Especially the line Moon is your pillow. Thank you for sharing, Cigeng.
