Halloween Is Over Poem by Marilyn Lott

Halloween Is Over

Rating: 5.0

Mom sit's with a cup of coffee
Halloween is over, today's another day
The childrens' costume's lying
On the floor in disarray.

The table still has cups and plates
With pieces and bits of snacks
Candy, oh way too much
Is lying in colorful Halloween sacks.

But weren't they cute? Their little smiles
As excitement filled they eyes?
She smiled in her remembrance
Each year is a sweet surprise.

Yes, they were cute, weren't they? All those little goblins and witches and lions, etc., but it seemed like they were fewer this year. I still have a ton of leftover candy at my house. It will probably go to waist (MY waist) .

Why? It is enjoyable- year after year. You have beautifully recreated the scene after the celebration is over. Thanks a lot, Marilyn.
