Handle Music Carefully

handle music carefully

as if clouds were monuments

the home you grew up in

the baby's breath in the earliest bouquets

and guard oh guard its sanctuaries

the beautiful composers knew

you must be still

to hear the stars

in the blue gold cold

when the darkness lifts

and they fade, singing together
