Hands Of An Angel - Poem by Lyn Steenbergen

In attempting to drift off to sleep
I find that I am surrounded by clouds
I am standing on the outside of the clouds and looking in
Slowly, I watch these clouds form a different shape.

As the clouds unfold, into an Angelic form
So many, many Angels keep appearing
And soon, the world around me is filled with Angels

As I watched this beautiful site take place,
up from beneath came what appeared to be a cradle
and it was holding a soul
A soul not defined as man women or child

Then Angels held out their hands
in the direction of this cradle
and wings appeared on this soul,
and a new Angel was amidst the world

I now know how Angels come to be
and that they are there to assist in the hand of God
But what I do not know is, was I really dreaming,
or for a moment, was I in the hands of an Angel
