Happily Never After Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

Happily Never After

One more tie broken to pieces,
One more castle crumble to ashes,
One more image fades and vanishes!

Where have all the fairies gone,
With their delicate wings and magic wands?
Or were they never there at all?

How brittle are human ties,
How easy to deceive the eyes!
The more the polish, the deeper the cracks
That no one notices until the crash!

Two broken hearts and broken dreams,
A broken home and shattered souls,
And no fairy to make them whole,
With a sweep of her magic pole!
