A FRESH HOPE DEEPAWALI 2017 ISKON
Diwali or Divali or Deepawali-Diwali
‘'LORDS RAMA and LAKSMI
GODDESS OF WEALTH''
Diwali or Divali or Deepawali
‘'Lord Rama and Lakshmi
Goddess of Wealth''
Diwali is Divali
it's also
Deepawali
A Hindu festival of lights
celebrated each year
October or November
according to the
Hindu Lunar Calendar
the fourth day is the start of
the Hindu New Year
To celebrate such happiness
year after year
all Hindus dress in their very best attire
to perform poojas (prayers)
Fruits and sweets are distributed freely
amongst family and friends
all married girls
visit their parents for blessings
they go to temples
and offer fruits and sweets
when back home
kids fire crackers
Patakas
noise and pollution are acceptable
as exceptional
Rejoice
Today is Divali
the world over all Hindus and Sikhs celebrate it
as it' a common festivity
since accepted Universally
they say
USA has also granted a holiday today
Happy Divali to all Mankind
So my dear Universal friends
here I win my Challenge
A very happy Divali
to the whole world
My religion is one of
Solidarity
Brother/Sister hood
of
Common mankind
Exile of Prince Rama
The step mother of Rama
asked the King
for his promised favour
She had Rama banished
along with wife Sita
from their home in Ayodhya
for fourteen years
Out of sheer love and affection
Brother Lakshmana
accompanied them
After some happily spent years
The Demon (Rakshas)
Ravanna
kidnapped Sita
and
abducted her to Sri Lanka (then Ceylon)
Rama with the help of Hanumana
the Lord of monkeys
rescued Sita ji
to returned to Ayodhya
where the people lit
Divas
light oil lamps
and
spread rows upon rows
to guide their future King home
as they returned from the forests
To celebrate such happiness
year after year
all Hindus dress in their very best attire
To perform poojas (prayers)
and
fruits and sweets are freely distributed
amongst family and friends
All married girls visit their parents for blessings
they go to temples and offer fruits and sweets
later exchange gifts with friends
when back home
fire crackers are burst
noise and pollution are acceptable
Rejoice this is Divali
Rangoli
Hindu women make exquisite designs
with coloured powder and rice
then hope Goddess Lakshmi will visit them
and the Divine will grant money like
Gold from a mine
It's mainly a Hope of the business kind
Love today, leave all ill wills behind
keep Divali and Lord Rama and Sitaji in mind

Hi guy...Divalli is an Indian festival..how do you know about this? ? You are from Austarlia? In previous comment you have replied that you are not Robert. You have many pseudos. May I please know what other pseudos you have? I can read your lovely poems in others ac too. I am crazy about you. You are nice and your poem is lovely. I knew something about Divalli.
