Hardheadedness Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Hardheadedness

Ignorance for what it is...
Is ignorance for what it is!
Romanticizing it as it has been done,
In urban centers throughout the country...
To benefit those living in suburbia,
And their misguided opinions and decisions...
Is not going to bestow upon anyone,
The glow of enlightenment.
Not with the thickness of hardheadedness in the way!
Some folks can not be taught.
They 'have' to be shown!
All of it has been to someone else's benefit!
And if you are one who find that you are whining...
This benefit does not belong to you!
It is not yours.
A picture drawn in crayon is best understood!
Hopefully.
At least an attempt should be made...
To search for any display of a higher consciousness,
Seeking release.
From under the rubble of thoughtlessness,
After the onslaught of attacks from mindlessness.
