Harder It's Getting Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Harder It's Getting

Harder it's getting,
To label the mavericks.
Or nonconforming 'poopholes'.
With a censoring done to do.

And harder it's getting,
To display pretensions.
While holding up noses high.
By the ones living in denial.
Wiping tears from eyes to cry.

Oops!
They slip and slide.
Oops!
On their own lies.
Oops!
Nowhere they go,
To hide in disguise.

Harder it's getting,
To masquerade.
Or display...
Impressions made to fake today.

Oops!
They slip and slide.
Oops!
On tears they cry.
Oops!
Nowhere can they go,
To lie in disguise.

Harder it's getting.
To deny a telling lies.
Oops!
Harder it's getting.
To find places where to hide.
Oops!
Harder it's getting.
To be judged and criticized,
By one's own kind.
To be judged and criticized,
By one's own kind.
Oops!
Harder it's getting.
Oops!
Harder it's getting.
Oops!
Harder it's getting.
To be judged and criticized,
By one's own kind!
