Hauling Not To Stall My Aspirations Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Hauling Not To Stall My Aspirations

If what I have possessed impresses more,
Than the deeds I bring for anyone to address...
There are those with eyes and minds closed,
Needing not to give me a single clue that shows...
What I have to offer is better left unexpressed.
Since experiences I have collected,
Have taught me over time not to get upset.
Nor should I make attempts to convince,
Sincerity is my best asset to have suspected.

Especially...
If I volunteer to give without attention meant to get.
To then volunteer with a begging to be stressed.
Or donating my time with this expected.
I am not one to give up my peace of mind,
To receive an unconscious rejection to accept.
I know where to go and not to move slow,
With a hauling not to stall my aspirations...
For a life to live disrespected with time given to reject.
