She is troubled by her past.
It lingers there, for her to
See everyday of her life.
The abuse she underwent
As a child is fresh on her mind.
The touch of her attacker
Still lingers on her skin.
The heartbreaks still leave
Their wounds and scars.
Every memory is among
Her and she tries to walk away
From the very things that hold
Her still and unable to escape.
It holds her like a prisoner,
Without any chance of
Getting away from
Her haunting memories.
