Haven'T You Been All Of Them? Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Haven'T You Been All Of Them?

If you have not been aggressive,
In addressing the current mess.
Your sudden wish to become more active...
Has fallen upon ears long closed.
And you might benefit better,
If you were dumb, blind, mindless and deaf.

You've prolonged your indifference,
Far too long.
When you spent your time wasting it...
There was evidence all around,
Something was wrong.

But you left it to 'them'
To come correct your stuff.
And you allowed them to decide,
When you would have enough.
Guess what?
You have never been a priority.
In fact you've been thought of as a liability.

If you have not been aggressive,
In addressing the current mess.
Your sudden wish to become more active...
Has fallen upon ears long closed.
And you might benefit better,
If you were dumb, blind, mindless and deaf.

And in a way...
Haven't you been,
All of them?

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

And one might be simply tired...suffocated by envy and hate of others who work so hard on ruining everything one discovers... 'dumb, blind, mindless and deaf', or just indifferent...
