He Saved Us Poem by Gary James Smith

He Saved Us

Rating: 5.0

He Saved Us

He saved us to become somebody
Somebody who lives for God
Sanctified and set apart
To share His blessed Word
To show the world a difference
In those who have been redeemed
Whereas we lived once unto ourselves
Now Lord Jesus Christ is esteemed

The Lord in His mighty power
Has thrust us forth to serve
And from that dutiful calling
We trust we shall never swerve
For with that great love wherewith He loved us
So much that He gave His own life
In steadfastness by the Spirit's helping
We cease from all envying and strife

So out to our mission field
Armed with His precious Word
Preaching the glad tidings to captives
To those who have never heard
There is a Redeemer,
Jesus Christ God's Son
And whomsoever trusts in Him
Accepts that victory won

Where sin defeated once for all
For our sin bearer He became
And rose again from up the dead
Lord Jesus Christ His name
And death became a silent mocker
It could not speak any more
For He our Resurrection and our Life
Praise God opened Heaven's Door!
