Heart Poem by Obinna Kenechukwu Eruchie

Heart

I.
I sense it warm in huge sum
Like the sun,
Never hurting onto my soul,
Never painting it sheer black,
But colouring it to be whole.

High, it beats like a tense drum,
Pike with fun,
Inciting me well with mirth’s role,
Inciting me so not to lack
Glee with emotional control.

II.
By colours with that to come,
Striking on,
Hits me to score triumphant goal,
Hits me I aspire to attack
Indecision to take its toll.

Try something as much to form,
Psyche me done.
Be pure and not be smeared like coal,
Be pure like colours joined in pack,
Feel nice like the fruits in a bowl.
