Heat Wave Independence Day 2018 Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Heat Wave Independence Day 2018

A spell of heat wave
Has baked the land last few days
Few lives it has claimed.

Still scorching today
On this Independence Day
Too much UV rays.

To avoid sun rays
I swim early in the day
When sun's far away.

I swim many laps
On my belly and my back
Water is so fresh.

Sunrise of beauties
On birthday of this country
Land of hopes and dreams.
