Heaven Could Not Hold You Poem by Catherine Lindsey

Heaven Could Not Hold You

Rating: 5.0

If I could command the moon and sun
to stand still for just one hour,
and freeze time, immortal in that span,
I would hold you in my arms forever.

If I could tear you away from the madness inside,
and show you the brilliant promise of the day,
If I could shape you and mold you into what I see,
Heaven could not hold you, and you would come back to me.

If I could sing a song, so beautifully sung
in the greatest of concert halls,
I would sing a song meant only for your ears
and all confusion would instanly disappear.

If I could take all yesterdays and create them anew
until your vision of me was completely brand new
and your heart in a swoon was suddenly free
heaven could not hold you, and you would come back to me.
