Heaven Lift Me Up Poem by Paula Glynn

Take me into heaven, I say,
As I rise up from my ashes.
Take me to that heavenly place,
Where no evil awaits.
Give me freedom to fly these wings,
Let this angel be free with a melody to sing,
As I play on those harp strings.
And let me stretch these angelic wings,
As I rise up and renounce a world of sin.
Because now I follow the rules,
And heaven is a place I choose.
So heaven lift me up,
And don't desert me;
This I plead.
