Heavenly Sky Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

Heavenly Sky

I hoped you'd never leave me,
But death just had its way,
I know that you believed me,
When I told you I loved you that day,
With eyes so misted up with grief,
I took your hand in mine,
Then told you they'd be waiting,
That you would just be fine,
And as your eyes closed tightly,
I prayed for you to rise,
To finally be with your loved ones,
Up there in that heavenly sky.
