Heaviness Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Heaviness

Rating: 5.0

It was painful departure
Untimely death of social worker
My intimate friend and close associate
I have no words for his story to relate

He was simple and down to earth person
Always eager to help even ordinary man
Spent entire life for welfare cause
I shed tears in his memory and pause

I look back to his entire carrier
By nature he was real fighter
To raise head and voice against injustice
We both had reason to rise and promise

Since we had defense back ground
It was natural to find common ground
Since we were blessed with favorable situation
It was all the more for noble work with humble submission

He may call me at odd hours
Ask for help to plan for future
It was one of rare honor to work with
I miss him so much for his last breathe

He is no more among us
But I had confidence and trust
For his activities and aim
I shall feel for his friendship and certainly claim

God picks fine souls in no time
May he is required there full time
I wondered about his untimely death
My feet felt heaviness while laying wreath
