Helping Hand Poem by Dorsey Baker

Helping Hand

The work
less
where no benefit
has been earned
no energy
has been burned
the work
less
a hand
stiffly
stuck out!
holding a
cup of change
paper or change
put it in
but no plastic
the work
less
they don't run
from the sun
they don't hide
from the rain
or sit down
on the job
aint nobody
waiting for
a hand out
they are just
looking
for a helping hand!
