Helplessness Poem by krishnakumar chandrasekar nair

Helplessness

Rating: 5.0

Hundred and fifty odd souls went down that day
So full of life: so unwilling to die
'cause one man had a hideous little problem
A problem that the system could not set right

Our lives are also such as these....
Mortgaged to someone unknown at the helm
Who can steer the sails or a flight
Help us take off and land safe alright
Or for some devious malady or reason
Dive straight into the ravines of the eternal night....

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The tragedy of the German wings aircraft has much to teach the world on the frailties that plague the human brain.... May all those souls rest in peace and may God Almighty give grieving families the inner strength to carry on...

A Beautiful poem on tragedy of the German wings aircrafts, took many lives. It was really helplessness of the people who travelled on ill fated flight. Its just a frightening experience.

Very good write about the air tragedy that shook us all. You are right our lives are already mortgaged. But we don't pause to think about it and move about as though we are supreme beings in total and absolute control. A ten for this great write. (10)
