When God saw suffering multiply
He sent his best angel down
And to the needy she did fly
Wearing compassion's crown
Mother Teresa her hallowed name
With her work held the world spellbound
And even with her expanding fame
She lived in a frugal hermits shroud
She lived, she served, she gracefully passed on
And she now continues to live blissfully forever
In the hearts of those now living and yet unborn
She will with her story inspire and create wonder.......
Yes, Mother Teresa was a blessed soul who found joy in her vow of poverty as she served those who did not have to take a vow to experience poverty. But after her death her diaries revealed, and her spiritual adviser confirmed she lived in what traditional mystics called THE DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL, that is, God did not speak to her, she was totally bereft of spiritual comfort. How could a so-called loving God so completely abandon one of his saints? But she did feel abandoned, totally for over forty years. There is a very different poem buried in that story, but I do not want to write it.
A lovely tribute to Mother Teresa. Very true said in few lines.......No language is rich enough to truly describe such divine souls..........Yes, She lives in the hearts of many. Beautiful poem. Loved reading it. Thanks for sharing with us.
Mother Teresa was among my favorites. The way she reached out and cared for the sick, dying and needy was proof of the love that resided in her heart for all of humanity. She didn't seek riches- she sought souls. Surely, she was a great example for ALL. Thank you.
