His Ring And My Ear Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

His Ring And My Ear

His ring and my ear

For days and even weeks
Right ear's skin was black, pink.

Though I was captain and pilot,
Slapped me, awful-hard, a sergeant.

Student of Tehran University
I went to Technical-Faculty.

Our college, for many, many years
Was known as centre of oppositions
To the rulers of system, dictator.

One of the six Air Force Officers
Took the test to get in, succeeded,
Tuition would be on government.

Unaware we were that students
Had contacts with inside offices.

They knew everything about us
But not of the feeling in our hearts.

Once, I saw a writing in cipher,
Was warning: "Agents of CIA! "

I wondered, knew not what to guess,
Till one day I spoke with TA:
"In no time you become their prey! "

"United we will fight to success, "
Was written on the walls of college.

Slogan it became for students
Shouting, and I liked it, repeated.

That day though was quite different
Slogans were followed with escape.

Behind door, hidden was the police,
He wore a golden ring, slapped me.

When we cannot guess about anything at that time we wonder. Slogans cannot be escaped. This poem is very brilliantly penned.
