Hockey Culture Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Hockey Culture

Hockey Culture

There is this thing called hockey culture
Intended for winner and vulture
It's bred into heart
From the very start
It scares the crap out of bully
And makes him so sedentary
It's the heart and soul of captaincy
Such a hard to earn commodity

There is this thing called hockey culture
Targeted for vulture and winner
It's bred into heart and soul
The Leafs should strive for this goal
Through vulture mentality
(Role that's hard for them to see)
They shed their Loser mentality
And gain Winner for posterity

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
As if The Leafs' fans didn't already have enough disappointment! NOBODY coming to Auston Matthews aid after he was deliberately targeted and severely injured is a truly sad state of affairs! The lack of immediate response and responses after the game were absolutely PATHETIC! ! !

Richard you expose the hypocrisy of a system that's suppose to be about sportsmanship. Well done!

I think some players don't know the definition of sportsmanship, Kevin. Thank you for being a good sport with your support and encouragement!

I admit I'm not a huge hockey fan, or most sports, but the culture has always seemed to breed a certain type of personality that favors unrepentant malice, masked behind sportsmanship. Also there does seem to be an awful lot of favoritism in the league

Bullies in any arena of life must be dealt with appropriately. By not coming to the aid of the victim, one is allowing the bully to get away with his/her aggressive behaviour. That favoritism appears to be of great advantage to many American teams.
