Holy River Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Holy river
Tuesday,13th August 2019

you observe keenly
and follow her quietly,
why does it remain calm? ?
of course, not to cause any harm

let it unite two banks
and put ink
for harmony and peace
for all of us to breath with an ease

how many civilizations emerged on the banks?
remained for a long time and wrote with the golden ink
left behind some remnants for us to evaluate
and relate it with the glorious past

how many empires vanished?
when the powerful rivers dashed
and brought down to the rubbles
even though they tried to face and struggle

river water is considered holy
and it shows power regularly
whether we take it lightly
or bow down when mighty river shows its color
