Home Is No Home And Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Home is no home and
Sunday,11th April 2021

My eyes were filled with tears
and bore one kind of nearness
parent was saying 'no' to my joining airforce
as I was the only diamond for then and source

I was determined to leave them behind
and find
the suitable and honourable place
in the society, community or race

quite a few years passed
I received a letter stating father has ceased
I took a short leave and rushed home
there was a mother but not a father to welcome

after few more years
mother too went far
leaving home completely in shambles
I was to visit it now as a single individual

after completion of my regular engagement
I was to present there and visit home town
the house looked completely deserted
with no one to embrace and greet

does the parent occupy an indomitably high position?
and show openly great affection
to make us cry with happiness
but now I wondered in their absence
