Honeymoon Skies Poem by Kelly Boutin

Honeymoon Skies

Harvest time
and honeymoon skies
the dust devils lie,
'Come play outside.'
But there aren't honeymoon skies
at harvest time.

Harvest time,
drop the sickly knife
it's time to go
don't wait for the snow
you'll die before spring comes
to open your eyes
to the honeymoon skies.

It's okay to die,
why wait to die
when it's already
harvest time?

Honeymoon skies,
honeymoon skies
why do you lie?
Don't you know
it's harvest time?
