Hope Poem by Adrian Flett

Hope

Cleaver of oceans our country abides
rides, Ukhahlamba's spine firmly set
ever south, rocks, cliffs beset
by ceaseless waves and tides.

Now carries cover-closed jar
after all evils of corruption
abuse, fraud and deception
escaped Pandora's open jar,

have dissipated, left derelict
done their terrible exertion.
In the all giving unbreakable urn
left with only hope intact,

to carry our southern expectation
and forgiveness, once again.
Our uniqueness difficult to explain
as the world watches our revelation.

We focus now on capabilities perceived
through faith, passed success;
South Africa filled with diverse stress
views and beliefs, we will achieve.
