Hope Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Hope

Let me cherish my desire,
I want something to happen;
My own spirit shows the fire
Of trusting God in heaven.

Let both my eyes look forward
To blissful abode above;
Let me attain my reward,
Through the Lord's mercy and love.

Let my mind anticipate
That God's promises are true;
Let my doubts evaporate
Into oblivion so blue.

Let me await God's blessings
That never ever run dry;
I will rely on the things
That will come down from the sky.

The Lord's bride will wear the gown
For Christ and true Church union;
Let me expect the life's crown
On the day of salvation.
