Hopefully Wishing Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Hopefully Wishing

Wishing hopefully to see friends, visiting with them, talking, enjoying their company.
Sitting here day after day alone, in the hospital, no one stopping by - not even to say hi.
A depressing state of affairs in a life so full of nature and prayer.
Preferring to have company of friends and family now - here - while I'm alive.
At my funeral I won't be able to see or talk with any of them, so I'd love to have their company while I still can here on earth.
Still sitting here alone and writing of what I'd like to happen.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
After coming off of life support in ICU, I guess everyone was afraid to come and visit, afraid I'd no longer be myself.
