How does it feel Oh! My Heart
to be so unloved, be done apart
solitary in this bustling world
why must you fend alone
they whom you called your own
they tread low, cast you down
walk through, you don't exist
why my heart this low wail persists
Mend your ties with loneliness
its reign over your heart possess
the power inside of silence
universal love to your presence
lay all your hurts and despair
all this never did matter
love a mere illusion
Let God's light be your reason

It is interesting to look at poems written long ago and try to determine the state of mind at the time
