How Much He Loves Her Poem by Ina Davila

How Much He Loves Her

she sits quietly on the floor
her blue eyes glitter in the darkness
they're still moist from the tears
silence runs throughout the house
not a sound heard
she picks up a photograph and stares at it
it's a picture of her ex boyfriend and her
arms around eachother
lips embraced
on the bottom it's signed i love you
she continues to stare at it
a loud crach of thunder brings her back
her eyes have dialated
the photograph is laying on the concrete
she remains quiet
her heart is racing inside her chest
throbbing throughout her head
her tears begin to fall again
her skin is ice cold
she lays down and stares at the blood
it covers her wrist
scars and dried blood
all the pain he caused her is reflected
her ribs begin to compact her lungs
her chest begins to tighten
she wraps herself in the fedle position
a gentle knock is heard on the door
a familiar voice is heard
it's calling her name
he tries to open the door
it won't budge
he kicks the door down
she remains motionless
he runs to her and touches her arms
ice cold
she remains to not move
he sheds his jacket and wraps it around her
warmth slowly enters her body
his tears fall around her as his arms are wrapped around her
they're tightly around her thin frame
he promises in whispers
promises to never leave her side
she's fading, giving up on life
now she's gone
he grabs the gun and puts it to his head
he says he'll be with her soon
he puts his hand on his heart
then pulls the trigger
blood flys around the room as he falls beside her
now they lie lifelessly on the floor
for eternity they shall remain
he forever by his side
