Hunter's Love-Snare Poem by Paul Sebastian

Hunter's Love-Snare

Hungry she looked for heart's food
Naïve, uninitiated, so easily fooled
A beautiful priced catch she was
A trap was set for a selfish cause
She was hunted!

In her longings, she's lured into a snare
First date was a satisfying hunger fare
Had her fill, quenched feeling lingered
She would go there again, she decided
She was baited!

Hungry, she sought to find her fill
Snares delusional fence was built
Need forced her to the masked bait
The hunter smiled, today's his take
She was trapped!

She was the hunter's prey
He knew well a poker-game's play
He faked feelings, doped to admire
She led herself into the deep mire
She was abused and used!

She flapped anxiously, shedding tears
Emotionally devoured, heart in pieces
Injured, she limps away, blaming herself
Deeply wounded, guilt ridden, bitterly felt
A mistake painfully learned!
