Hurting People Hurt Others
Some years ago I heard these words...
Only hurting people hurt others.
Looking within and outside of myself,
I needed to find the deeper meaning of those words.
I searched high and I searched low.
In searching, this is what I found.
It is 100% true.
If one is not hurting, one would be
free to love, free to give, free to be.
Life was never promised to be without hurt.
However, it promised that love and forgiveness
would make it all better.
Life never said to forget.
However, it promised freedom to let go
of the hurt in order to live and let live.
Letting go of hurt gives a deep sense of relief.
It allows broken bridges to be rebuilt and restored.
Experience is an awesome teacher.
It grants needed time to reflect seeing
self in the other person's shoes.
Thereby giving insight and understanding.
Upon deciding to let go and let God,
one can't help but let go of the hurt.
Getting to this place takes
courage, strength and determination.
It actually builds character.
It creates a person of valor,
a person of class, a person of dignity.
Let it go, let it go, let it go.
Yes! A sin committed at one side of the globe can spread all over! ! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
