I Am A Poem Poem by Lindokuhle Dawordplaymind Nkosi

I Am A Poem

I am a poem
That voices out the voice of the voiceless.
Hear me reciting to the deaf,
Utilizing the mic of my ancestors.
I am a poem of waves.
I surf with inspiration
That intrinsically heals the nation
I urge you to surf with me
I am an ancient poem
To be witnessed in revelation
With a title consigned to oblivion
Though the message is embezzled in the core of each being
I am a lyrical poem
Sang by every nation
For my lyrics soothes the forlorn souls
That yearns to be revived and rejuvenated

I am a stigmatized poem, with strangled dreams.
Yet poetry made me believe,
For I am a child of perseverance
Born from faith of hopelessness
Yet skilled to hike to the peak of any mountain
I am a poem of thoughts
Explicitly expressing my hopeless thoughts in a hopefully manner
Because I ink with the knowledge and wisdom of my ancestors
That has been passed down to generations to come
Hear my hope that bleeds on this paper
When the ink of the bloodline of my ancestors
Spits words of life from the tombs.
