My love for you, a flame that burns bright,
But alas, it's not enough to keep us alight.
We dreamed of a life, a world of our own,
But reality, it seems, has other plans shown.

Love and money, hand in hand they go,
A harsh truth, that I have come to know.
My heart full of love, but pockets empty and bare,
I fear, our love, would not last, a constant repair.

So, I must depart, to earn my own happiness,
To earn you, my love, is my greatest success.
Though it breaks my heart, to leave you behind,
I know, one day, our love, will shine.

I'll work and strive, till I have enough,
To make you mine, to make our love more tough.
Wait for me, my love, till the day I return,
With enough to make our love, truly burn.
