I Am Poem
I am shy and confused.
I wonder if God is watching over us.
I hear the wind playing with the trees.
I see the clouds float like boats in the sky.
I want to find my dream.
I am shy and confused.
I pretend to be someone else.
I feel time spinning really fast.
I touch my heart to seek the truth.
I worry about the steps I take.
I cry because of hopelessness.
I am shy and confused.
I understand that there are many options.
I say look deep down into your soul.
I dream of everyone opening their eyes.
I try to walk my own way.
I hope that happiness can be found.
I am shy and confused.

I like this, Amanda. Your refrain line is like a drone. Effective. This piece reads to me like an introduction of a shy person, with hopes, fears, et al. In short, a human being. The simplicity of the language is effective, I feel.

Amanda, you have written words of truth. The real problem is, no one officially will be able to admit that these words have substance. And I look down at the ground, As people count me out, Because of who I am. I am shy and confused, Nice write Amanda, and keep writing. Barbara
