I Am Still Single Poem by Randy McClave

I Am Still Single

I own my car and my boat and my house
Yes! I am all alone without a girlfriend or a spouse,
I can eat the food that I want to eat
And I can go to the movies and pick my own seat.
I can travel or go wherever that I want
Any place in the world I can explore or haunt,
The only baggage that I ever need to worry about is my own
And none of my worries or problems need to be known.
I can sleep all day or I can stay up all night
And I can sleep beneath the stars or under the sun shining bright,
I am truly free as the breeze or as the mighty wind
Because, I don't have a wife or even a girlfriend.
I don't ever have to worry about the way that I dress
Sometimes I enjoy being a slob, I will happily confess,
And the television remote it is always mine
And never do I get hit or yelled at for looking at a hemline.
I can spend my money anyway or anytime that I want to
I can always go out with the boys and do what I want to do,
And the blankets are always mine to share with nobody on my bed
Never do I sleep on the couch for the wrong thing I've done or said.
Never do I have to worry about a cluttered bathroom
And never do I see it with confusion or even with dread or gloom,
And with any woman I can always flirt with or mingle
Because, I am still happily single.
