I Can See
I can see behind those eyes
To all the pain locked up inside
To all the hurt that's gone before
The need the want to be loved
To be seen and heard and understood.
I see in you an echo of me
For all that longing just to be
Screaming shouting but on mute
I can see behind those eyes
Where passion burns alive inside
A love for laughter for song for life
For restful moments and spaces in time.
