I Celebrate Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I Celebrate

I celebrate

My nation suffers from suffocation
It needs rejuvenation
New impetus and new breathe
Not fearful of death

My nation was fed with wrong notion
It went for world peace and good neighborly relations
It neglected national defense
And kept barriers open without fence

The country was made heaven for disruptive forces
Ration card can be made and election cared is made farce
Anybody could become citizen
And thus it is made terrorists heaven

It has surpassed tradition
But maintained corruption
Right from sweepers at hospital
To teachers at school

The Doctor deserts duty
And practices at private nursery
Poor lose their children
And these people remain ungoverned

The politicians have inducted full family members
Into politics and almost cornered
The economy is in doldrums
These cheaters have hey days in their kingdom

People are not to be less blamed
They want everything to be exempted
Poor ask for nothing and watch with disgust
Where are we heading for quest?

Today I celebrate Independence Day
I have my own way to feel on this day
I sing for the praise of mother land
Who has give me place and shelter till the end of the life

I have still hope
That harmony and peace shall stop
At our door steps
We shall rejoice with each heart beat

I Celebrate
