I'D Rather Be Alone Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

I'D Rather Be Alone

All by myself, I feel complete
No pangs of loneliness or some absence,
Just a silent enjoyment of being me-
On friends and on people, I've no dependence.
There is magic in these times solitary
Resting just as I would want to be
No need to please others consistently,
No demands of my time, fine absoulutely!
For I'd rather be alone and be at peace
Than with a lot of people who cause stress,
Who impose on me much and make things amiss
Who rob my soul and heart of pure happiness!
