I Did Confess Poem by Randy McClave

I Did Confess

To you, I did confess
With a smile I then said yes,
Then you shook your head slow
And then unto me your reply was no.
Tears then came down my face
Which time they say will erase,
How long I thought would that be
No one had ever told me.
I thought falling in love was simple
Smile with a dimple,
Then give them your soul and heart
I thought that's how love did start.
I did as I had thought
When that feeling I had caught,
I thought it would be her and me together
For now and then forever.
That never did occur
As I did asked her,
I never did knew or understood why
My love she did deny.
Now as I think of her today
For her I still do and I will always pray,
And I will also pray for her tomorrow
Forever I'll feel the sorrow.
I still think and remember the time when
When my love for her did begin,
Being in love was such a great delight
Now about it, I can only write.
