I Do Not Have To Ascertain Your Love Poem by Gert Strydom

I Do Not Have To Ascertain Your Love

I do not have to ascertain your love
where I think from pre-history it has been destined
and I am certain that it's sincere.

Both your words and acts do carry meaning
where I am now lost in memories.
I do not have to ascertain your love

and of your humanity I have a deeper knowledge
where your character do shine through your eyes
and I am certain that it's sincere

and with the lock-down I am missing you terribly,
do write verses to you in any language that I am able to.
I do not have to ascertain your love

as you do love me truly,
without you I am totally lost
and I am certain that it's sincere

where we are hard-wired to each other
and every word of you I can again quote.
I do not have to ascertain your love
and I am certain that it's sincere.
