Worried citizen, fading morale
They broke the rules
But told me
They want us to feel happy
I still believed
Unrealized dreams, lost hopes
They killed the innocents
But told me
They want us to live long
I still believed
Helpless eyes, stressed folks
They extorted people
But told me
They want us to be rich
I still believed
Scared faces, empty streets
They wreaked havoc
But told me
They want us to feel safe
I still believed
Endless struggle, spiritless life
Thriving poverty, growing injustice
Caught in darkness
One day, my belief grew legs
And walked away
One day, my belief grew legs, And walked away, i like this experssion, thanks for sharing
very nice and deep thoughts penned. thanks for sharing. i wish there was something we could have done to clean this mess of life. may be if we all try a little bit harder from our sides we would be able to bring some changes and hope.
I think it`s a very deep poem and penned in a very smart way...
Excellent poem Jha ji. The refrain in the first stanzas and in the last one a conclusive stroke.........just beautiful. Very well written.
a poignant write penned with deep emotion about current times and false hopes..belief blinded with false promises...well penned
many reasons why man grew with insecurities. to me it seems that man is nothing but limited, weak, egnorant in many ways yet still believing that he's not at all- the illusion of pride in us.

One day many others may grow legs and march with you to truth and justice. It's always in the name of one god or another. Interesting atheists don't blow things up or shoot non believers. I'm thinking...thinking...thinking... 10 from me.
