I dream of simple things; steady days, quiet nights
I long for porch swing evenings, kitchens equipped with copper pots
That make meringue whip into beautiful clouds of fluffy white
As guitar chords softly drift in the open windows
Where hard wood floors carry the sounds of happy children
Thru the house of love I dream is yours and mine
 
I dream of simple things; smiling faces, beautiful harmonies
I long for the comfort of a hug for no reason as I wash dishes
And the warmth of the smile that comes from deep within
As we sway to the music of life all around us
Where there is frequent knocking on the front door
Of this house of love I dream is yours and mine
 
I dream of simple things; Sunday dinner, sacred moments
I long to be surrounded by truth and light and friendships that endure
Where weary souls find solace in the shelter of our smiles
And spirits lift as burdens are laid down for a moments rest
And love is served in generous portion to all who enter

I dream of simple things; green grass, flower beds
I long for sprinklers that water both lawn and children alike
And soft breezes that carry welcome on the wind
Beckoning neighbors to come outside and join the fun
Where daisies flourish and fresh mint scents the air

I long for companionship to envelope me when I wake each day
For quiet moments stolen from view of all those around
And noisy happy moments shared with loved ones and friends
