I Embrace The New Year Poem by Gary James Smith

I Embrace The New Year

Rating: 5.0

I EMBRACE THE NEW YEAR

I embrace the New Year with glad expectation
That God would bring thousands to come to Salvation
With the Spirit of Christmas still fresh in my mind
I know that's the heart of the God of mankind.

To see new life in men that waver
To see them come to know the Saviour
Some look to their problems and are met with despair
Not giving attention to the fact that God's still there

They take these burdens and carry the yoke
That God never meant to be carried by us folk
O Spirit alert such men to attend
To their need of a Saviour, in Christ's name, Amen!

Another prayer Lord that I ask of Thee
Let us as Christians take inventory
Check off the list of the things that do hinder
And be burdened to become real soul winners.

Make this new year of two thousand and nine
Remembrance of a fresh anointing time
So New year I embrace you I'm glad that you're here
To share faith with those loved ones who are so dear.

And as well, to share Lord with those brought our way
A very, very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year's day.
