I Entered the Garden of Roses

I entered the garden of roses,
And it was a petal that fell.
It could not my thirst quench,
For all the beautiful things in this world.

I strolled on and another petal fell.
In despair my heart did dwell.
The worst despair I had ever felt.
My frozen heart could not melt.

The glory of the rose bush I saw,
Now I saw a different life,
Not so full of longing and strife.
I started to belong.

I entered the entire garden of roses,
And began to walk through it's colors.
It's sweet smell did dwell finally,
In my newly fulfilled heart.

The garden of roses is a reflection of our own life. We find despair, strife, hope and happiness with the passage of time. Thanks for the imagery and an excellent narrative. A quote: The worst despair I had ever felt. My frozen heart could not melt.
