I Fall To Stand Poem by Aanuoluwa Adebanjo

I Fall To Stand

Rating: 5.0

As my feet trembles
Upon the cold iceberg
In the wide ocean of life
And the tides flow with unstability
I know i may fall
But i fall to stand

Do you look at me like the lowly dandelion?
Do you look at how ugly the mud is?
What you fail to see is the beautiful lotus
Growing in that dirty mud
Yet like the lowly dandelion
I fall to stand

Do i walk like i have a growing diamond in my backyard?
Do i smile like have seen the brightest sun?
Does that make you despise me?
Does that make you want to see me fall?
Yea, i may trip and fall
But i fall to stand

Do you see me wallowing in the storm?
Do you think i may be be swept away by the prevailing wind?
Though storm is powerful
And the wind blows hard
I may slip and fall
But i fall to stand

Though the sky is dark
And the stars i can't seem to find
Though you may have all the power in the world
And may choose to bring me down with it
Willingly will i take a bow
I know i fall to stand
