From here we look
Yet we cannot see
It is blur and misty
Yet we are curious to know
What it is that lies ahead
Ahead of a road that is dark and long
Ahead of a hill that is high and slopy
Ahead of a river that is wide and deep
The past is our most certain story
The status quo
Our point of origin
The place we come from to live in the present
Yet we are in anticipation of tomorrow
Sometimes wishing we could get a picture of what lies ahead
Or probably catch a glimpse
Of the long awaited tomorrow
The future, that is so uncertain, unpredictable
The great unknown
Our deepest fear
So true..our deepest fear lies in the truth of the future.....my plans all get upset thinking for long......what next? ...what shall come to me? ..what shall be my future like....? ? so unpredictable...the only solution is to stick to present...work n be hopeful..thanks.

Aanuoluwa, you have a wonderful way with words, always so meaningful and precise in your thoughts, I really enjoy your poetry and subjects you write about. Fear of the unknown is always the deepest fear, I believe, and there is nothing we can do to allay it. We are only able to live in the present as you have stated. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
